is a worldwide operating consulting company with its main office in Central America. We are well grounded in project management particularly projects related to purchasing and process optimization. Due to our partner program we are able to also serve our clients with deep expertise in other areas such as e.g. IT security, IT architecture, application development and more.

History
Back in 2005 our president, Markus Schäfer, had a vision to help and support companies to improve their business in the area of purchasing. Purchasing became of increasing importance to companies in almost all business areas. However, smaller and medium sized companies usually don't have the financial resources to "afford" an own full time purchasing department, on the other hand, big organizations are often blocked with the daily business and don't have the time needed to run a procurement project. To bridge this gap additional resources are needed temporarely. This is where the business cocept is based on and we at CALIDA-D want to offer its professional support. In 2007, the company officially started its activities.
Our Location
CALIDA-D is located in Cartago less than 25 kilometers away from Costa Rica's capital San Jose. However, purchasing became as global as you can imagine. The traditional buying from local suppliers is due to increasing price pressure no longer an appropriate strategy. "Think global, act local" therefore it isn't important where in the world the experts are located. Costa Rica offers an excellent platform for young and innovative businesses. Therefore we were choosing this location.
For larger IT Offshore development projects we are able to offer office space for our customers' project managers to manage onsite, if necessary, the progress of the project.
